Why Stay and Exit Interviews?

Exit interviews, when completed correctly, are a great “reactive” way to gather valuable information as to why employees are leaving. Stay interviews are an excellent way to “proactively” gather information not only about why employees stay, but can also highlight potential concerns for improvement before employees leave.

The same expertise and deep questioning that our team uses when completing exit interviews, are also applied when we complete stay interviews for our clients. Stay interviews can provide a “pulse check” for culture improvement strategies that organizations have implemented. By interviewing a cross-section of your organization’s employees, we can determine if your employees feel truly valued and if they are actually 100% engaged.

Gallup estimates that low employee engagement costs the global economy US$8.9 trillion.

Let’s Talk

If you are thinking any of these thoughts, you are not alone:

  • I’ve been wondering if we are getting honest answers.
  • I really need to figure out how to reduce my turnover.
  • I’m not sure why my one division has such poor results.
  • I don’t know if my HR department is actually reaching out to everyone.
  • I can’t be sure that the information is accurate.
  • I wonder if some of the negative comments are being softened or not even put on the report.
  • If I could only figure out what my people want, so they don’t quit.
  • I have some concerns about one of my leader’s leadership skills but am not sure how to confirm it.

We report back our findings with recommendations for quick improvements, so that your best people don’t go to work for your competitor, or simply just disengage while getting paid.
